i'm taking an artsy fartsy adventure until 2/2013

FYI  ...   i am so thrilled to have the priviledge of participating in several workshops over the upcoming months.  i'll need to focus & be devoted to these opportunities SO that also means that i'll be away from my regular postings until 2/2013.  i'll be enriching my artsy fartsy journey with practice practice practice to comingle my skills to make my creativity challenge me to move forward.  i am so grateful AND honored to play/work with all the wonderful techniques that these awesome artist are willing to share and guide me through.   blest be  ;D

love this new swapbot group i was accepted to join... cut + paste.  we use all styles of ephemera to create collage.  for this one we collaged a large sheet "motherboard" and cut it into 4 diff PC's yet it's unified.   ;D

this is my first file folder mailart and i was pumped to see that my swap partner also enjoys Jesus and the style of christy tomlinson (taking her class is on my wishlist.) since i have SHE ART die cuts & stencil & rubber stamps, i used them to make this collage....   ;D

we wrote to our two partners about PLAYFULNESS in a twirly, randomly collaged, handwritten letter.  i used a digi sheet from deviant scrap, added ephemera and 10 quotes about play on the back and then scribbled away     ;D

vintage ephemera journal pgs

i took a class several years ago with patti van doren, tuscan rose, called wall calendar journal.  it is a totally awesome concept of making a journal out of a 12X12 wall calendar.  AND a beautiful way to turn bits into beautiful!  after these background pages come together, then the experimenting begins.  i have collected SO MUCH vintage ephemera and wall paper books over my years of junking and especially since much of the written word has become electronic.  better get back to sewing.....   ;D

this is a file style remains of the day booklet reflecting some of the Scripture, prayers & hymns i use in my devotional time for my walk with Jesus.  i left some of the pages blank so my partner could add to it and make it her own.

when i signed up for this swap i thought "how hard can it be, mini couture."  i've been watching project runway, seems doable right.  well, not so much really.  as i experimented & fumbled thru several possibilities, i soon discovered that i need much much more practice with couture mini.  i ended up using a barbie dress & embellishing it.   aahhhh, more to my liking...  blest be  ;D
